Ty D. Angeron, CHA

CEO & Chief Financial Officer

Ty Angeron began working in the hotel industry while still enrolled at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.

In the spring of 1985, while working for Highpointe Hotel Corporation, Ty helped open the seventh Hampton Inn, a chain that now boasts over two thousand hotels. This new concept hotel chain was a wonderful learning environment and gave him the perfect opportunity to excel in operations. He spent the next eleven years in a variety of capacities with Highpointe, managing several hotels in markets across the United States. Eventually, he was promoted to the position of Manager, Operations Systems where he worked closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations preparing budgets, capital plans, reporting procedures and training programs.

With the training and development gained at Highpointe, he was recruited to South Carolina to oversee fourteen hotels in three states for Hospitality Management Associates. While in South Carolina, he coordinated the renovation, core modernization or re-branding of most of the hotels in the portfolio, including five Holiday Inns, three Hampton Inns, two Days Inns, a Baymont Inn and an independent hotel. In the last two years at HMA, he developed two hotels: the Hampton Inn at Franklin, NC and the Hampton Inn and Suites at Duncan, SC. In addition to his product improvement responsibilities, he also oversaw the companies accounting functions, sales and marketing, franchise relations, vendor relations, risk management and development.

In 2001 Decatur Hotels offered him an opportunity to return to Louisiana. With nine hotels located in New Orleans, his responsibilities at Decatur were focused on product quality, guest, and employee satisfaction. After the events of 9/11 and the incredible downturn in occupancy, he effectively streamlined the operation and maintained consistent performance in cost control. During the nine months following 9/11, he oversaw the successful opening of three new hotels in Decatur’s portfolio. Since Decatur, Mr. Angeron has participated in the development of several management companies for various partnerships and markets. Mr. Angeron closely also worked closely with a full-service hotel management company that oversaw the operation of three full service Crowne Plaza hotels.

In 2012, with the formation of Nola Hotel Group, where he serves as Co-CEO, and primarily as Chief Financial Officer, he assisted in the coordination of two New Orleans properties and worked with Eddie Jacobs to acquire three additional properties in the French Quarter, as well as the opening of The Quisby, a Hostel in 2017. Nola Hotel Group currently operates five hotels in New Orleans.
